Well it’s only a week left until Conquer the Coast in Corpus Christi and it looks like my ride wight will be around 210-215 lbs. Probably in the upper end of the range. I was hoping for a sub 210 lb weight but I seemed to have hit a plateau with the weight loss.
For the final weekend before the event my training plan calls for about 5-hours of cycling on any hilly route but the weather has other plans for me. I got caught in a very heavy downpour surrounded by lightning last night. I took refuge at a State Park until it passed but more is expected during the weekend. We will see how it turns out. I might be able to sneak in an hour ride here and there. From here on out I need to watch what I eat, do a couple one hour endurance rides the rest of next week and focus on core strength.
Hopefully I will not gain any weight and I’ll be happy with that. I need to be going forward not backwards on my weight loss and I don’t like the plateaus but it is what it is. As for the Conquer the Coast ride, I feel that I’m ready for whatever challenges the ride throws at me. Hills, wind, rain, flats all have been experienced. About the only thing I’m not totally ready for are Sharknaodos! I’ve seen the movies so I have an idea what to do, 😉
